JC TV News Critique 11-12-14

This was the first newscast aired that I was in. I noticed that I did not look at the camera that much. I think I can read my lines and look up at the camera more to make more of a connection between me and the audience, other than looking down at the paper the whole time I am talking. When the camera was mainly focused on me, the TV in the background was hidden a little bit so either I should move myself or the camera can move, which is easy to figure out which looks best.

I also noticed for the weather, the camera that was being projected onto the green screen was slightly tilted. Its an easy fix and all it takes is attention to detail.

Those were the only noticeable things I could see. This been my first live Newscast I think it went very well.

Movie Review #2 Wizard of Oz!

The Wizard of Oz is an absolute classic! Whether you see the performance on stage or on TV it always puts a smile on your face. This fun, toe tapping musical was created in 1939! Over 50 years ago this movie was filmed and it still airs on TV and almost everyone knows the infamous song "Somewhere over the rainbow".

The Wizard of Oz is a story about a farm girl with the name Dorothy Gale. She ends up being swept away by a huge tornado and being put into a fairy tale land known as Oz. She meets the good witch and a bad witch when she first arrives. The good witch informs Dorothy that the only way to get home is to find the "all great and powerful Oz", only he grant her wish to go back home. On her quest to find The Wizard of Oz, she meets 3 friends on the way. A scarecrow, a tin man and the cowardly lion. Dorothy creates a wonderful friendships among the three of them.

This musical is filled with iconic moments, songs and characters. A lot of people say that "The Wizard of Oz" is must see if you want to live in our culture. In a sense, they are kind of right. It is an absolute MUST see. There are tons of references to "The Wizard of Oz" in life in general. Go see this movie! This movie should be on your "things to do" list before you die.

I give this movie a 9/10 Stars! *********
